September: Andong Mask Dance Festival - Korea has loads of festivals, but if this is any indication, well... see for yourself!

Updated:March 2, 2011

Every year a big festival occurs in Andong, South Korea. They call is a Mask Dance Festival. But I have to level with you. There was very little true mask dancing when compared to all the other unusual "things" occurring. This is not your everyday American festival. Oh no. This seems to have a top priority of getting your photo taken with unusual statues, followed by randomness and impromptu ridiculosity. Yes, that's a word. But the food was excellent!

The festival in all of its crazy glory. I need no words here. See for yourself.

The dances. Ridiculosity did not miss an opportunity here. My favorite is the Kimchi Dance. Yes, that's right. Funny, but the most talented dancers (sorry Korea) seemed to be the ones from SE Asia (end of movie). But then, I know I'm a bit biased when it comes to that! ;-)
