December 13: Touristing Vientiane
We've been hanging out in Vientiane, the capitol of Laos, while we wait for the Chinese embassy to finish preparing our Visas. Vientiane feels like a miniature France, complete with Parisian-like landmarks.
Tauru is singing in the sunshine, dancing from pole to pole..
"C'est magnifique.. c'est Vientiane, comme une petite Paris (masculine or feminine? I can't remember...)!" he sings.
Voila! C'est feminine!
Here is the Pataxai at night, Vientiane's Arc de Triomphe. Built by Laotians, inspired by the French, and made possible by American cement left here from the war back in the '70s.
Christi at the Swedish bakery, staring at chocolate.
Baked by Laotians, inspired by the Swedish, and devoured by the Americans. Mmmmmmmmm!
