May 29: A Thai Island
After spending three weeks over-indulging in the incredible night-market fare in Trat, thus becoming a Tratty-Fatty, I decided it was high-time to head off to a tropical island. Koh Kood is very close to the Cambodian border. It's full of very expensive resorts, the most posh running 80,000 THB/1 night. That's nearly $3k USD!! But many of those were closed as it is now low season - meaning I had big open beaches all to myself.
One last evening in Trat - my typical booty collected from the market. Cheers!
My view from my Trat Guest House as I enjoyed my curry. Not bad!
My roommate. What the heck is this thing?
Check out how he's hanging on there - this was chillin' on the wall over my bed.
Koh Kood - amazing. Watching the sun set from the dock behind my guest house. This river comes from the waterfall and heads out to the beach. Peaceful!
On the walk to the waterfall there was a lady who had two pet monkeys. Cute!
Naughty monkey! She bit me!
Nothing beats a swim in the cool, refreshing waterfall on a hot, tropical day! It was super deep, too - I jumped off the cliff! Awesome!
Sing with me now, "Almost paradise! da-na-na-na-na da da-da da-daaaaaahhh...."
All to myself. My own, personal paradise.
Just watching the waves roll in.
And enjoying a few beverages.
